Cure timelines matter: light foot traffic often within 24 hours for many waterborne systems, with full cure in 5–7 days; oil systems cure more slowly. Use felt pads under furniture, breathable rugs after the initial cure window, and a pH-neutral cleaner. Plan periodic maintenance coats every 3–7 years (depending on use) to extend finish life and avoid future deep sanding.
